Dear Friends, Neighbors and Family:
I am a leukemia researcher at Georgia Cancer Center, Augusta University. The goal of my research is to find safer and more effective therapies for adult patients with acute and chronic leukemia. I was trained as a bioengineer at graduate school, but I changed my career to cancer research about 20 years ago. In my research, I apply system-engineering principles and take a holistic approach to study cancer.
Like many of you, I was touched by friends and family members who suffer from this deadly disease throughout my life. About 17 years ago, after I published my second research paper in the Journal “Cancer Research”, I received an email inquiring about my research from an ovarian cancer patient in Tucson Arizona. Her passion to fight against caner and her curiosity in my research have inspired me ever since.
Today, Paceline motivates me to join this amazing grassroots fundraising effort because it symbols a system that combines everyone’s power to achieve maximum efficiency, which is exactly what we needed in the battle against cancer. I have committed and registered for the 20-mile ride, and my goal is to raise $750. As I begin this journey, please join me in supporting this amazing effort. No amount is too small, and every dollar makes a direct difference.
Paceline is not only a ride - it is an experience. An experience that will forever impact lives in Georgia and around the world. 100% of your fundraising will fund life-saving cancer research at the Georgia Cancer Center.
Join us May 10-11, 2019 in Augusta, GA for an amazing evening of entertainment and food followed by an incredible, fully supported ride through the beautiful Georgia terrain the following morning.
Together, we can cure cancer faster.
