Please consider sponsoring me in a 100-mile bike ride on May 11, 2019 to cure cancer faster. 100% of your donations will fund life-saving cancer research at the Georgia Cancer Center.
Why am I doing this?
When I heard about Paceline and their mission to cure cancer faster through rides like this, I felt a call to make the commitment to ride for the cause. I have never done anything like this before (bike 100 miles at once or ask people for money); truth be told it is a bit outside of my comfort zone. But, it’s a great cause. Every time I have had a long day or I feel too tired (or lazy) to train I remember all of our friends, family members, and colleagues that my wife and I have lost throughout the years to this terrible disease. I think of our loved ones who are no longer here to take a bike ride with, the strong warriors still fighting, the caregivers who keep on giving, and the survivors who fought harder than I will today, or likely will tomorrow, and my perspective is immediately back in focus. This means a lot to me and to my wife, my biggest cheerleader, who lost another one of her grandfathers to this this terrible disease earlier this year. I ride for all of them and for all of you and your families affected by this disease too. I ride in hopes that someday we, together, will eradicate cancer.
